ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
TIE (TN) provides for examination for Technical Trade Member, Technician Member and Associate Member to associate with TIE (TN) as non - corporate members. Following is the eligibility criteria to appear in the examination and certification requirement Eligibility

In order to be eligible to seek membership to any class, every candidate should possess the following qualification and experience:

Specific

Technical Trade

Part-1

  • Must have passed (8th std pass/10th fail ).
  • Student has been attained the min age of 17 years on the date of the application.
Technician Membership and Associate Membership Examination

For DIPLOMA OR TECHNICIAN MEMBERSHIP:

Part-1

  • Must have passed Secondary (10th Pass) with Math & Science or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board.
  • Student has been attained the age of 16 years on the date of the application.

Part-1

  • Passed Part I Examination as above.
  • or 10 + 2 (Science) Scheme conducted by the recognized board of examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or its equivalent qualification.

For DEGREE OR ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

  • Students must have 3 years polytechnic (or) AICTE approved Diploma from Recognized Board (or) University/ Institution.
  • Age should be 18+/of any Gender.
  • Priority will be given to the related field working students for (part time) programme.
Certification Requirement
  • Part I Examination will consist of 12 Papers, The candidate can appear in maximum of 6 Papers in one attempt for (TMTIE/AMTIE).
  • Part II Examination will consist of 23 Papers, The candidate can appear in maximum of 6 Papers in one attempt for (TMTIE/AMTIE).
  • On successful completion of all subjects of the Part II examination, the candidate will work on a project related to the field .The project duration will be one semester i.e. approximately 6 months.
    The Practical Training for Technician Membership will be carried out in AICTE approved Polytechnic/Engineering College and the practical assessment will be conducted by the concerned Polytechnic/Engineering Colleges wherever the candidate has under gone Practical Training.
    The Project report for Technician Membership is to be submitted through the Principal or Head of the Department of AICTE approved Polytechnic/Engineering College.
    On meeting the requirements as above, a candidate becomes eligible for the concern Courses
Exemption of Subjects
The Diploma holders in any other branch of engineering or equivalent can appear directly in Part II. Technician Engineer programme in engineering examination, after claiming exceptions in the subjects they have already passed during their regular Diploma programme. Exemption of Subjects (Courses): The students should have completed all the first year and or more subjects of Diploma in Engineering /any other equivalent /Technician Engineer progrmme in Engineering /Technician Membership of Any of the Professional Engineering Institution from any of the recognized Board/University /Educational organization/Institution are eligible to avail exemptions .In case if they have already passed any of the examinations already. These students have to submit the necessary documentary proof for the completion of the complete set of subjects Note: The recognized qualification is referred to the qualification recognized by the Government of India/State/any of the qualification from abroad duly recognized by the concerned Government. In order to qualify the examination, any person who is eligible has to become a “Technician member” to get enrollment as a student of Technician Engineer. After the Successful completion of the curriculum of the Technician examination, and clearance of requisite membership fee, the student will be awarded the “Technician Engineer of the TIE(TN) TMIE/DMIE/AMIE”.
